Joe Karlisch is a co founder of Homecoming Photography and a classically trained fine art photographer with nearly two decades of experience in real estate, commercial, and architectural photography. His work blends technical precision, thoughtful composition, and reliability, qualities that have shaped both his career and Homecoming’s approach from the very beginning. Joe’s path into photography started early. As a teenager, he began experimenting with digital and film cameras, developing a passion that quickly grew into a profession. While working at a real estate office during high school, Joe photographed his first listing, an experience that naturally connected his interests in photography and real estate. By the age of eighteen, he launched his first photography business, and by twenty one, he was recruited by a large real estate photography company where he spent the next decade helping shape visual standards, workflows, and photographer training. In 2020, Joe and his partners founded Homecoming with a shared belief that real estate media could be done better. They set out to build a company grounded in quality, ethics, and care for the creatives behind the work. Joe was especially motivated to create an environment that valued thoughtful scheduling, clear communication, and imagery crafted with intention rather than volume driven production. Today, Joe focuses on high level photo work across residential and commercial real estate, interior design, and remodel projects. He also plays a key role in mentoring Homecoming’s photographers, offering feedback and guidance to strengthen consistency and craft across the team. Known for his calm, direct leadership style, Joe values authenticity, collaboration, and leading by example. Joe grew up in Eagan, Minnesota, where his parents’ backgrounds in photography and real estate quietly influenced his future path. He studied at the College of Visual Arts in St. Paul, where a strong fine art foundation continues to inform his work. Outside of photography, Joe enjoys films, technology, astronomy, video games, and spending time outdoors. At his core, Joe is driven by craft, care for the people he works with, and a commitment to delivering work that clients can trust.

As Homecoming’s Head of IT and Administration, Faisal Rashid plays a key role in building the systems and workflows that keep the company operating smoothly. With a natural talent for technology and a genuine desire to help people navigate it with confidence, Faisal ensures that both the team and our clients benefit from clear, reliable, and efficient processes. Faisal joined Homecoming right out of college and grew alongside the company, taking on challenges across customer service, web development, quality assurance, and field coordination. His calm, people-centered leadership style is grounded in consistency and thoughtful problem solving, and he’s known for creating improvements that make everyday work simpler and more effective. Raised in Appleton, Wisconsin, Faisal credits his patient, supportive upbringing for shaping his steady approach to leadership. Outside of work, he enjoys music, reading, writing, and spending time with family and friends. Driven by curiosity and a love of understanding how things work, Faisal brings clarity, fairness, and continuous improvement to everything he does at Homecoming.

Fahim Rashid founded Homecoming in 2020 alongside his business partner Joe Karlisch with a vision to bring a more hands-on, boutique approach to real estate media where quality, creativity, and service are supported from beginning to end. With more than twelve years of real estate photography experience, Fahim understood the industry deeply. After working in client relations for Fortune 500 companies and later serving as Client Services Manager for a major Twin Cities real estate photography firm, he saw a clear need for a company that empowered its photographers and editors and upheld a consistent standard of excellence throughout the entire production process. As Founder, Fahim remains deeply involved in nearly every part of the business. He oversees the client experience, supports both the field and post processing teams, and personally reviews every set of photos before delivery. His leadership style is direct and constructive, grounded in honesty, efficiency, and mutual respect. What motivates him most is seeing clients thrilled with their results and building long term relationships based on trust and reliability. Fahim grew up in Appleton, Wisconsin, shaped by loving parents and two brothers who instilled a strong work ethic and a commitment to doing things the right way. Outside of Homecoming, he enjoys spending time with his wife Rachel and their son Theodore (Teddy), exploring cinema as a lifelong cinephile, and reading comic books. Dedicated and driven, Fahim leads Homecoming with the belief that every client interaction carries a responsibility and that it is the company’s duty to deliver exceptional quality, consistency, and a seamless experience every time.
